The award winning Pandora Inn

When you visit the Pandora, it’s easy to forget you’re in the 21st century. Its spectacular setting on the edge of Restronguet Creek is timeless. Parts of the Inn date back to the 13th Century and, with its flagstone floors, low-beamed ceilings and thatched roof it’s not difficult to believe that little has changed since that time.

While the Pandora’s wonderful setting remains unchanged, everything else in this cosy traditional inn is 21st-century comfort and quality. In the winter the inn boasts roaring log fires, in summer its creekside setting and private pontoon make dining al fresco a real treat.

Chef John Poole uses the freshest, local, seasonal produce in his dishes and there’s an award-winning wine list and traditional real ales from St Austell Brewery.

Open every day, food is served all day starting with morning coffee and cakes from 10.30am and the full menu from 12 noon until 9.30pm with daily specials served at lunchtime and again in the evening.

Sustainability at the Pandora Inn – we are committed to running a modern and sustainable business within the confines of a grade II listed building in an environmentally sensitive area. Things we do to minimise our impact on our environment include purchasing as much as we can from companies based in Cornwall or Devon, ensuring that our spend creates employment for other local businesses.

We actively look for locally produced alternatives to the more commonly seen national alternatives. We also work closely with other local businesses to mutual benefit including cross merchandising our services with local B&Bs, holiday cottages and the water taxi services.

Regular fundraising events have enabled us to support local Cornish charities with annual donations regularly amounting to over £3,000.

We have a robust waste management policy and have achieved a 60% reduction in landfill by recycling cardboard, paper, plastic, metal and glass. Food waste is collected separately for composting and waste oil is made into bio-diesel.

If you’d like to read more about what we are doing in sustainability terms please see our website.

The Pandora Inn is in such a lovely setting, it’s a shame to only visit by car. Our car park is quite small and in the summer does get very crowded. So why not make a trip to the Pandora a real day out and leave your car at home and visit us by boat, bicycle or on foot! To help you, we have created a map and directions for convenient places to park and continue your journey on water, two wheels or two feet! Please see our website for full details and directions.
